Zanzibar is a Tanzanian archipelago About 40km off the coast of East Africa comprised of several islands, but two are the largest ones Ugunja also called Zanzibar and Pemba. Its winding lanes present minarets, carved doorways and 19th-century landmarks such as the House of Wonders, a former sultan’s palace. Zanzibar is 2.46 billion m², which includes many surrounding beautiful islands. It is 85km long and 30km wide.
The rains fall from mid-March to the end of May, and there is a short rainy season in November. The dry seasons are from December to February and June to October. Humidity is generally quite high, although this can be relieved by sea breezes. The average daytime temperatures are around 26 degrees from June to October, February is the hottest month in Zanzibar with an average temperature of 28°C (82°F). The island is home to the almost extinct Zanzibar Red Columbus Monkey, the Zanzibar Servaline Genet, and the Zanzibar Leopard. Zanzibar has been home to intelligent humans (Homo sapiens) for more than 20,000 years.
Due to its proximity to Equator, Zanzibar is warm throughout the year and has equal day and nights (12-hours each) like most of the East African Countries.
