Minister Bulunga launches the “Tight Marking against Covid 19” vaccination campaign

In conjunction with the Eswatini Football Association, Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries Madze Bulunga has launched the “Tight Marking against Covid 19” Football Vaccination Campaign aimed at encouraging football stakeholders across the country to vaccinate in order to allow for the safe and full resumption of football activities in Eswatini.

“Football played by thousands across the country’s League and passionately followed by thousands more, has enough power and capacity to unite us towards herd immunity. It is therefore our challenge as football family, be it supporters, clubs, players, officials, referees, vendors and media to do the right thing and get vaccinated”, narrated Minister Bulunga.

In her remarks Minister of Health Lizzy Nkosi stated “ I wish to express our gratitude to the country’s football fraternity for this partnership that will bring new energy to our vaccination campaign”.

Eswatini Football Association President Peter Simelane mentioned that they are looking at ways to have a competition which will determine the club with the most vaccinated fans during the course of the campaign and incentivize clubs who will lead.

Also the Chairman of the Premier League of Eswatini said that the campaign will help them put football back where it deserves to be. Through football we can revive our country’s economy and through football we will defeat Covid 19.

The launch of the campaign has seen football players, supporters and officials take the vaccine including Mbabane Swallows ‘ Wonder Nhleko, Mbabane Highlanders Mlamuli Nkambule and Manzini Wanderers supporters S’dumo Ngwenya.
