Eswatini has suffered a second loss to Uganda by 6 wickets in the ongoing ICC men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional C Qualifier held in Kigali, Rwanda.

Eswatini team won the toss and opted to be first which is a decision that almost worked for them. Team Eswatini got off at a disastrous start losing the first 5 wickets within 5 overs in less than 30 runs. None of the top order batmen managed to reach double figure which shows that Eswatini was destined to catastrophic failure. It was the partnership of Melusi Magagula (13 runs from 22 balls) and Shehzad Patel that tried to bring life to Eswatini batting innings. Unfortunately none of their successors managed to pick up their initial momentum to increase the figure on the scoreboard. Eswatini was all out at 73 with 4.1 overs untouched.

In defending the target, Eswatini managed to suffocate the East Africa giants from the first ball. Uganda soon found themselves in trouble at 0/1. Despite the stumbling start Uganda was able to steal runs and took advantage of stray balls to hit new boundaries. Despite the suffocation from Eswatini’s “merciless” bowlers. Uganda safety reaches the target 12.1 overs. Uganda won by 6 wickets.

Eswatini is now sitting at position 4 in group A above Malawi, Seychelles and Lesotho.
