Gold Medals for Eswatini Taekwondo Team at Region 5 Youth Games

Eswatini Taekwondo team made history by winning Gold Medals for the first time in the history of the Region 5 Youth Games.

Eswatini Taekwondo team has made the country proud, lifting it’s flag high, by winning gold medals at the ongoing  AUSC 5 Youth Games in Lesotho. Hlelo Vilakati, Sifiso Dlamini, Kimberly Dlamini (all 14 years) and Gcinumuzi Nxumalo (15) became Eswatini’s first Gold Medalists in the history of the Games.

Sncobash Mofenyi Mvulane the coach of Taekwondo team said “the youngsters were magical in the ring during their respective encounters and we would like to congratulate all the youngsters who fought their hearts out in Lesotho got lifting the Eswatini flag high.

Thanks goes to our biggest sponsors, Government through the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, ESRC and EOCGA. Without your support it would not have been possible. The fitness zone management, home of champions, thank you for always tolerating and supporting the noisy bunch of kids who use the facility for trainings”.

Minister of Sports Harries Madze Bulunga said, “this is a huge moment in the history of the nation. We congratulate these brave youngsters for such outstanding performance. This is an important reminder of the unending talent we have in our beautiful kingdom.”
