Schools are expected to reopen today the 11th of January 2022 for their third term academic year 2021. This is the term for writing of final exams, that is external examination for completing classes and other classes will write exams as directed by their respective school.
Learners will continue to attend schools using rotation schedule and follow all Covid-19 regulations as the Covid-19 pandemic is not yet over. Bhekithemba Gama Under Secretary in the Ministry of Education said the Ministry is expecting schools to reopen today as per the directive and all schools are ready for reopening.
Gama said on the issue of the shortage of teachers, the Ministry has hired and appointed teaches to fill the gap in schools. Inspection exercise were done to locate schools with the shortage of teachers. “There are enough teachers in schools ready for teachings. We will continue with inspections in school and if it happens we find a gap the Ministry is ready and will continue to appoint teachers in those schools”, he said.
In the case of the 25 schools that were damaged by natural disasters and political unrests, Gama promised that the Ministry has done all it’s best to repair the damage done. “All classes will be prepared and ready for learners as schools open. The ministry visited the schools to monitor the situation and we will pay another visit during this week”, Gama said.
Gama wished a safe reopening of schools to learner’s and teachers. Promising parents safety for their children around school premises.
