Government has declared MPs’ lawyer Sicelo Mngomezulu as a prohibited immigrant in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

This has been communicated through a gazette issued by the Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe. According to the Gazette, which is Legal Notice No.331 of 2022, the minister used powers vested in the Immigration Act, 1982.

It is stated in the notice that the minister exercises the powers conferred by Section 3 (d) of the aforementioned Act. “Thee Notice may be cited as the Declaration of a Prohibited Immigrant Notice, 2022. The Notice shall come into force on the date of publication of the gazette,” reads part of the notice.

The declaration reads, “Mr. Celimphilo Hlabeyakhe Sicelo Mngomezulu, a national of the Republic of South Africa, born July 1, 1979, and bearer of the Republic of South Africa Passport No.M00227027, is declared an undesirable and prohibited immigrant of the Kingdom of Eswatini”.

Just recently, Mngomezulu made remarks when attending an event organized by Hosea residents in honor of their incarcerated Member of Parliament (MP) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza. At the event, that was held at Hosea Sports Ground, the lawyer said they would slaughter a cow for young girls who would boycott this year’s Umhlanga (Reed Dance) ceremony.
