“We see our involvement as an opportunity to empower the youth in the African continent because football, in particular, is a popular sport”.

These were the words of multinational company Inyatsi Construction Managing Director Derrick Shiba after the company showed its corporate social responsible citizen side by pumping a sum of E2 million towards Eswatini hosting the annual COSAFA Under-20 Youth Championships.

The launch was held at Malkerns Country Club where Inyatsi Construction’s sister company, Eswatini Mobile will be the Official Communications Partner during the youth tournament expected to kick off on October 6 and end on October 16.
Delivering his speech during the glittering launch Shiba thanked the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) for engaging them in staging the Youth Championships for the first time since 1997.

“As a company operating in nine different countries, we are delighted to be part of this epoch-making event. Football is community-based,” Shiba said. He said the tournament ticked all the boxes for Inyatsi as a company as they are “all about development and growth,” EFA president representative Steve Horton thanked Inyatsi for sponsoring the event.

“Conclusively we want to salute and treasure your immense investment in the game of football in particular the drive to aid the hosting of the forthcoming international football contest. We cannot forget the work, connection, and servitude of Eswatini Mobile,” Horton said.

Minister of Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga thanked Inyatsi Construction for extending a helping hand to football and the government through the E2 million sponsorship towards the tournament.
