Schools under the Hhohho and Manzini Regions proved their prowess in both the Junior Certificate (JC) and Eswatini Primary Certificate (EPC) examination results.
According to an analysis of the results released by the Minister of Education and Training Lady Mabuza, the two regions topped in the results.
Under the JC examination, the country’s statistics reflect that the Hhohho Region obtained a pass rate of 86.55 per cent and Manzini Region came second with a pass rate of 82.76 per cent.
Coming third was the Lubombo Region which recorded a pass rate of 84.15 per cent while Shiselweni came last with a pass rate of 81.91 per cent.
The analysis also reflects that about 28 candidates attained 94 per cent in the JC examination while 33 attained 95 per cent. About 14 pupils, according to the analysis, attained 96 per cent while nine candidates scored 97 per cent.
Concerning the EPC results, the Manzini Region obtained a pass rate of 94.03 per cent while Hhohho came second with 92.37 per cent. Coming third was the Shiselweni Region which obtained a pass rate of 90% while the Lubombo Region scored 89.47 per cent.
Meanwhile, the national pass rate in 2022 for the JC examination stands at 83.93% when compared with 84.11 per cent in 2021. This reflects a decrease of 0.18 per cent from the overall pass rate in 2021.
For the EPC Examination, the overall pass rate for the year 2022 stands at 91.94 per cent when compared with 93.91% in 2021. This reflects a decrease of 1.97 per cent in the pass rate. Before presenting the results, the minister congratulated all learners for working hard when preparing for the examinations.
“To candidates who did not make it in the 2022 external examination, I would like to encourage you not to lose hope but to continue working hard,” she said.
