Father kills 4-year daughter, himself

A father has allegedly killed his 4-year-old daughter by forcefully feeding her a poisonous substance before ending his own life.

This incident occurred at Ntsanjeni, which is situated in the Hhohho region. According to the police, the incident occurred on January 21. The Mozambican national was also found dead and is suspected to have also ingested the same poisonous substance.

This was confirmed by Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati.

Vilakati added that two people lost their lives in vehicle accidents within 24 hours. She said at 9.30 am near Jubela along Hhelehhele/Mkhuzweni MR8 public road, a Toyota sedan driven by a 35-year-old man of Ngculwini overturned after the driver lost control of it.

“He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to RFM hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival. A 35-year-old passenger of Timbutini sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the same institution,” Vilakati said.

She added that on Monday at about 2 am in Ngwavuma area along Big Bend/Lavumisa MR8 public road, a Honda fit driven by a 29-year-old man of Lubulini ran over a 32-year-old woman of Mbutfu who was lying in the centre of the road. She sustained serious injuries mostly on the stomach and was certified dead upon arrival at Good Shepherd
Hospital.
