E143 000 first aid training for teachers

By Bongiwe Zwane-Maseko

As schools open for the first term today, the Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society (BERCS) is currently training 11 teachers from 11 schools around Sigombeni Clinic’s catchment areas on first aid skills.

The training of the teachers on first aid will ensure that pupils are attended to immediately after any accident at school and to avoid the situation from getting worse before they are taken to a health facility.

“We would like to pass our sincere gratitude to our partners International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and LARS Foundation who supported us with funding worth E143 000.00 to conduct this 5-day training which started on January 23, 2023,” said the organisation’s public relations officer Nontobeko Mbuyane.
