CMAC gears up for world-class labour seminar

The Conciliation Mediation Arbitration Commission (CMAC) has officially announced the date for this year’s annual labour law seminar.

Scheduled for 23 February 2023 at the Happy Valley Hotel, the seminar hopes to address fresh labour issues, especially in the changing world of work post-Covid-19.

The seminar will delve into topics such as the 4th Industrial Revolution, Reflections on Covid-19 labour cases – Navigating the Post-Covid environment, Flexibility in employment contracts and Business interruption and employment protection in Eswatini.

CMAC also promised to open the floor for heated labour debates at the end of the session, welcoming issues of interest such as the victimisation of union members in the workplace and the politicisation of labour issues by union members, among others.

Renowned speakers expected to contribute during the labour law seminar include the Judge President of the Industrial Court, Court and Industrial Court of Appeal, the Commissioner of Labour, a representative from the International Labour Organisation (ILO), CCMA from South Africa, union officials, human capital practitioners, industry representatives as well as a yet to be announced renowned economist.

At an investment fee of E3 500, the event promises to be an insight into the 21 st -century workplace operation and will focus on the current realities, research results and reflection on the workplace practice with a future outlook and considerations for policy making, practical
application and broader economic impact.
