Lush Haircare Eswatini is planning to hire about 3 000 emaSwati over the next two years. This was disclosed by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo during the company’s first official product dispatch ceremony at Ngwenya today.
Lush Haircare Eswatini is a hair products manufacturing company, which falls under the Tolaram Group. The company produces various items including hair extensions branded ‘BeBeautiful’ and will soon be producing hair weaves of superior quality.
The first truck of finished goods destined for the international export markets was dispatched during the ceremony, which was graced by the minister, Tolaram Group Southern Factory Head Raybind Patel, Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibani Mngomezulu, EIPA Senior Executive Manager Dr Khanyisile Dlamini among others.
In his remarks, the Minister of Commerce mentioned that the hair factory currently employs 150 people and is planning to expand to 3 000 people over the course of two years.
“We have been informed that the company will be doubling the number by end of March this year and we expect exponential growth in employment opportunities by end of the year,” said the minister.
In an interview, EIPA Senior Executive Dr Dlamini expressed how delighted they were as EIPA that job opportunities were being availed to Emaswati. She further indicated that this was the perfect way to begin the year and they were looking forward to more investment projects coming to fruition over the year ahead.
Worth noting is that five per cent of the products will be distributed in retail outlets within the country while the rest will be widely distributed to various countries globally.
