Sonia Booth transforms infamous cheesecake scandal into a lucrative enterprise

By Bongiwe Zwane-Maseko

Sonia Booth leveraged last year’s ‘cheesecake’ scandal by turning it into a business opportunity. The estranged wife of Matthew Booth has now revealed that she is now selling ice cream, but not just any ice cream; ice cream flavoured with marula cheesecake.

Sonia launched her latest business venture on Twitter on Tuesday while joking that she certainly doesn’t have a Valentine.

“It goes without saying that I do not have a Valentine. Affirm your affection by acquiring the Marula Cheesecake Passion Ice Cream (R50). Add R40 for delivery (blame the Minister of Fuel). Only 50 tubs were produced for tomorrow because of the power outage,” she stated.

Last November, the former Miss South Africa second runner-up and businesswoman took to her social media timeline accusing her husband, soccer legend Matthew Booth, of infidelity, sharing receipts from Valentine’s Day 2022 when the alleged affair began.

In the series of Instagram posts, Sonia revealed Matthew had baked a cheesecake for his alleged mistress on the eve of their son’s birthday.
