A 20-year-old man from Mahwalala has been admitted to E2 000 bail after he was arrested for allegedly stealing, causing malicious injury to property, and assaulting a person.
Bonkhe Stofu Dlamini is facing three counts after he allegedly stabbed Lwazi Ngubane with a sharp object on his arm and proceeded to beat him with open hands several times on the face and further kicked him resulting in an assault common charge.
He went on to steal Ngubane’s Navy Blue Redmi 9A cellphone valued at E1 900. Both incidents took place at Mahwalala in December last year.
On New Year’s this year, he allegedly damaged a Black Diamond Plasma TV valued at E7 500 with a spade with the intent to injure Siphamandla Mamba.
Appearing before Magistrate Chazile Thwala, Dlamini who opted to conduct his own defence moved a bail application which was granted and fixed at the aforementioned amount.
In the event he can pay bail, Dlamini is not to interfere with state witnesses, commit a similar offence and is not to miss any court remands or trials. He is set to return to court on March 3, pending trial on March 21.
