Buffaloes back on top of the log after 6-2 massacre of Sea Birds

By Lwazi Dlamini

A ruthless Young Buffaloes annihilated a hapless Manzini Sea Birds 6-2 on Saturday at Nsukuwansuku Stadium to reclaim the pole position on the MTN log standings.

The army side is now tied on 43 points with Green Mamba but occupies the top spot because, on a head-to-head basis, they have an advantage having beaten the ‘Correctional Services’ side 3-1 on October 15, 2022, at Mayaluka Stadium.

Down in Nhlangano, Nsingizini Hotspurs snatched their eighth win of an inconsistent season when they walloped the league’s whipping boys, Seven Dreams 4-0 at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium.

‘Insingizi Yezulu’ have now moved to fifth place after Royal Leopard lost 1-2 to Denver Sundowns on Friday at Ka-Langa Technical Centre. Moneni Pirates continued with their fine form on Saturday, pushing Madlenya FC deeper into the relegation abyss with a 2-0 beating which lifted the Moneni Buccaneers to the sixth spot, relegating Leopard to the seventh.
