Slovenia, SADC Secretariat discuss peace, security, water sharing

Deputy Minister and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Samuel Žbogar on April 6, held a meeting with the SADC Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration Angele
Makombo N’tumba at the SADC Secretariat.

During their meeting, the executives stressed the importance of addressing poverty and inequalities in society as a means to reduce conflicts and bolster sustainable peace, security and inclusive
development.

N’tumba highlighted that SADC had developed a list of high-impact regional projects for which collaboration, support and partnership will be required for their successful implementation.

The two executives further discussed cooperation in the area of shared water resource management, learning from Slovenia which, according to the visiting deputy minister of Foreign Affairs in that country, has put the right to water in the Slovenia Constitution.

Slovenia has a robust water management system which ensures access to clean and quality water for its population.
