A representative of Eswatini-born billionaire Natie Kirsh has come out to dispute allegations that the businessman is plotting to fund a regime change in the country.

The representative, George Lys, issued a press statement which was about an article published on April 25, 2023, in the online newspaper, the Swaziland News, under the headline “Is Billionaire Nathan Kirsh Plotting to Fund Regime-Change in Eswatini Amid Fallout with Mswati?”

“I categorically deny the allegations raised in this article. None of these allegations have any basis whatsoever in fact. In Eswatini, Natie Kirsh and his family are dedicated solely to philanthropic activities focused exclusively on the welfare of Eswatini and its people, through the work of the KFE, including its flagship Inhlanyelo Fund which has created over 27 000 new businesses since 1999,” reads part of the statement.

Lys went on to explain that during the Covid-19 crisis, Kirsh donated over E320 million towards food relief, personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies, oxygen production plants, ventilators, and other life-saving interventions.

He said if anything, Kirsh and his family wish only for peace and stability in the Kingdom and for all differences to be settled through dialogue, in adherence to the principle that has guided emaSwati throughout their proud history.
