Matsenjwa, accused of wrongful and intentional assault, allegedly attacked Nkhosingiphile Masuku using a knife, causing severe injuries to her left hand.
The crown argued that Matsenjwa be remanded into custody pending committal to the High Court. However, Matsenjwa’s attorney applied for bail, which was granted by Magistrate Mtetwa.
Matsenjwa was granted E3 000 on the condition that he does not interfere with state witnesses and attends all court appearances. Failure to adhere to these conditions may result in his remand in custody until his committal to the High Court, scheduled for July 14, 2023.

Meanwhile, Mthokozisi Gamedze faced charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The Crown alleged that on May 28, 2023, at Mnyokane, Gamedze deliberately attacked Sifiso Mbuyisa multiple times with a bush knife, intending to cause severe harm.
Similar to Matsenjwa’s case, Gamedze applied for bail and was granted bail in the amount of E3000. Failure to comply with the bail conditions will result in his remand in custody until his committal to the high court on July 14, 2023.
The next court appearance for both Matsenjwa and Gamedze is scheduled for July 14, 2023.
