Voters have turned out in their numbers to cast their ballots in the different Tinkhundla’s in the Kingdom of Eswatini as the country elects new leaders.

The voters said they were taking the opportunity to effect the changes they wanted to see in their communities. Ayanda Shabangu in the Lubamba area in Ezulwini said he went to vote as he wanted to see change and better service delivery in his area.
“We are also appealing for job opportunities for the youth. Many finish school and stay at home because there are no jobs,” he said.
Another youth from the area who asked not to be named said the election was presenting an opportunity for them as youth to play an active role in the direction the country takes.

“Many of us don’t have jobs and this leads to anxiety and depression so we need to be at the forefront to make that change,” he said.

Many polling stations in the country saw large turnouts from people of different ages and backgrounds.
