17-year-old man charged with murder

A 17-year-old man is held at the centre of a murder investigation after being arrested and charged with the fatal stabbing of another man.

The accused, whose identity remains undisclosed to protect his status as a minor, stood before the Mbabane Magistrate’s Court to face the grave charges laid against him.

The victim, whose name has been withheld to respect the privacy of the minor, fell victim to a series of brutal stabbings that resulted in fatal wounds and ultimately led to his untimely death.

According to his charge sheet, on February 17, 2024, the accused stabbed the victim several times all over the body with a sharp object inflicting fatal wounds from which the deceased died.

Details surrounding the motive behind the heinous crime remain shrouded in mystery, as the accused has yet to provide any explanation or defence for his actions.

In the ruling, the court ordered the accused to be remanded in custody at Vulamasango Juvenile Facility until April 26, 2024, pending further proceedings at the High Court.
