Over 300 Mangcongco residents benefit from Taiwan medical assistance

Taiwan, Eswatini’s loyal companion!
Amidst the chill and rainy weather conditions, the rural community of Mangcongco in west Eswatini received medical assistance extended by the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Led by Taiwan’s Minister Ching-Lin Tsuei, a skilled team traversed to the remote area, bringing with them essential medical aid. The aid comes from the Taiwan Medical Mission in Eswatini.

Residents applauded the gesture and said it is emblematic of the enduring friendship between Eswatini and Taiwan.

A total of 379 recipients were privileged to receive medical assistance from the Taiwanese doctors and nurses who graciously dedicated their expertise and resources to the service of the community.

In addition to medical aid, representatives from the “Taiwan-Africa Vegetable Initiative” and the “Woman Business Start-Up Microfinance Revolving Fund” joined forces, demonstrating Taiwan’s holistic approach to community development.

Residents of Mangcongco were offered a spectrum of healthcare services ranging from medical consultations to ultrasound check-ups, along with the dispensation of necessary medications.

Furthermore, the initiative included health and nutrition education sessions aimed at empowering the community with knowledge essential for daily healthcare and maintaining a balanced diet.

Mangcongco’s Member of Parliament, Lomalanga Dlamini, expressed profound gratitude and emphasized the significance of Taiwan’s friendship and benevolence to emaSwati.

A total of 379 residents received treatment of various aspects durint the Taiwan Medical Mission visit.

In her remarks, she highlighted the transformative impact of the medical assistance, stating,

“Residents were very grateful for Taiwan’s friendship and kind assistance, which has undoubtedly uplifted the spirits of our community.”

In recent times, Taiwan has played a pivotal role in providing essential assistance to the Kingdom of Eswatini. Through a series of tours across various constituencies, Taiwanese medical doctors and nurses have extended crucial medical aid to emaSwati in different communities.

Taiwan and Eswatini share a strong bilateral bond, built on the foundation of compassion, collaboration, and a shared commitment.

The Taiwan Medical Mission in Eswatini has been working in the country since 2009. The Mission’s nationwide volunteer service has also been very helpful to many people living in remote areas.



In addition to clinical and critical care, the medical mission is involved in medical education, public health, and disease prevention.
