Taiwan gifts Ministry brand new quantum …. Eswatini expresses gratitude as Taiwan deepens decades-long friendship

Over 56 years long friendship yielding fruits!
The Republic of China (Taiwan) has once again showcased its continued allegiance to its friendship with the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received a remarkable gift, a state-of-the-art quantum for state protocol from the Taiwanese government.

Ambassador Jeremy Liang, representing Taiwan, delivered heartfelt remarks during the handover ceremony held at the Ministry, expressing profound appreciation for Eswatini’s consistent support on the international stage.

He made emphasis on Taiwan’s enduring pledge to stand by the Kingdom of Eswatini and underscored the cherished nature of the bilateral relations.

In response, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Shakantu, greeted the Taiwanese delegation with warmth and gratitude.

She emphasized the significance of the occasion, not merely as a transfer of material support, but as a testament to the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations since 1968.

“Today’s event is more than just a simple handover,” Minister Shakantu remarked, “it is a celebration of friendship, a celebration of cooperation, and a celebration of the mutual respect that has served as the bedrock of one of the sturdiest diplomatic ties in the region.”

Minister Pholile Shakantu acknowledged Taiwan’s consistent generosity and highlighted several recent acts of benevolence, including the donation of medical equipment, the facilitation of healthcare initiatives, and substantial contributions to national development projects.

She expressed profound gratitude on behalf of Eswatini for Taiwan’s continuous support.

“This motor vehicle will play a pivotal role in enhancing our protocol operations,” Minister Shakantu noted, expressing her anticipation for the vehicle’s utility in hosting dignitaries and visitors from across the globe.

The Minister further extended heartfelt thanks to Ambassador Liang and his team for their continued dedication to strengthening the bond between the two nations.

She made emphasis on Eswatini’s pledge to furthering the partnership with Taiwan, emphasizing their joint endeavor towards promoting peace, stability, and development in their respective regions.

Minister commends Taiwan’s generosity in ongoing projects

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Shakantu, during the handover ceremony applauded the Republic of China (Taiwan) for its continuous acts of altruism and generosity towards the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The Minister expressed profound gratitude for Taiwan’s significant contributions, highlighting a series of impactful projects undertaken in recent months.

Among these commendable efforts are the provision of Positive Airway Pressure devices to the Ministry of Health, which is a vital contribution expected to enhance healthcare quality and empower health personnel across Eswatini.

Furthermore, Minister Pholile Shakantu lauded Taiwan’s efforts in healthcare outreach, citing the exemplary treatment of a remarkable 656 patients during the Taiwan Medical Mission Clinic at Nkhaba.

The Minister also recognized Taiwan’s vast support to communities in need, including the donation of rice, crutches, and wheelchairs to the Manzini South Inkhundla.

And also Taiwan’s substantial contribution of 400 metric tonnes of rice, valued at over E8 million, to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.

Taiwan has been supportive and committed towards women empowerment and socioeconomic development in Eswatini.

The Minister highlighted the funding of Phase 11 of the Women’s capacity building project, formerly known as the Capacity Building Project for Microfinance Focusing on Grassroots Women in Eswatini.

This initiative highlights Taiwan’s recognition of the importance of gender equality and economic empowerment in strengthening inclusive growth and development.

As the Minister concluded her remarks, she again, expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening the bond with Taiwan and working hand in hand to promote mutual development and well-being for both nations.

We will continue exploring opportunities in Cooperation with Eswatini – Taiwan Ambassador

During the handover ceremony, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Eswatini, Jeremy Liang, expressed the enduring bond between the two nations.

Ambassador Liang’s remarks highlighted the profound friendship and continued support that define the relationship between Eswatini and Taiwan, where he emphasized the shared values of brotherhood and mutual assistance.

“I am very happy to attend today’s handover ceremony,” Ambassador Liang began, reflecting on the continuity of friendship despite the passage of time.

“A year ago, I was also here to attend the same ceremony. Although time has passed, however, the solid friendship between Eswatini and Taiwan remains unchanged.”

The Ambassador Liang highlighted the deep-rooted connection between the two nations and praised Eswatini as a major ally of Taiwan, particularly in advocating for Taiwan’s international participation.

He expressed gratitude for Eswatini’s dedicated support at various international forums, including the World Health Assembly, UNFCCC, and the United Nations, where Eswatini consistently advocates for Taiwan’s inclusion.

Looking towards the future, Ambassador Liang expressed optimism about further strengthening cooperation between Taiwan and Eswatini.

“Building on this strong foundation, we look forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation to enhance the well-being of emaSwati,” he declared.

The Ambassador further emphasized the importance of exploring new opportunities for cooperation and exchange.
