MTN Bushfire, UN ignite youth passion for change in Eswatini

MTN Bushfire and the United Nations (UN) are inviting all young people in Eswatini to participate in the upcoming UN Bring Your Fire Live Dialogues series.

This joint initiative aims to empower the youth to drive positive change and sustainable impact in their communities.

The Live Dialogues, set to kick off at House On Fire in Malkerns on May 16, 2024, will focus on the crucial role of education in fostering climate action and empowering the next generation of environmental stewards.

This session aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 13, emphasizing quality education and climate action.

Throughout the series, participants will delve into various themes such as Gender-Based Violence, Youth Employability & Food Security, HIV/AIDS Key Population Inclusion & Human Trafficking, and Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions.

Each dialogue will feature panel discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for experts and practitioners to share valuable insights and best practices.

Moreover, these dialogues will pave the way for the upcoming Summit of the Future in September 2024, where Eswatini and other nations will come together to shape a shared vision for a global common future.

The aim is to inspire emaSwati youth to advocate for change and create grassroots momentum towards a better tomorrow.

Students attending the dialogues will not only engage in meaningful discussions but also stand a chance to win tickets to this year’s MTN Bushfire festival.

This festival serves as a creative advocacy space through the UN Bring Your Fire Zone, promoting social and environmental awareness.

The partnership between MTN Bushfire and the UN signifies a significant milestone in fostering cultural exchange, sustainable development, and global awareness.

Participating UN agencies include UNAIDS, UNDP, WFP, OHCHR, UNICEF, UNFPA, IOM, and USAID, highlighting a collective effort towards driving positive change and inspiring action for a more sustainable and equitable future.

With UNICEF and UNDP leading the discussions on 16 May, featuring esteemed speakers from various sectors, the Live Dialogues promise to ignite the passion and potential of Eswatini’s youth.

This initiative underscores the importance of youth engagement in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
