The patron of Eswatini Hospice at Home Inkhosikati LaNgangaza has received donations worth over E760 000 including a car, courtesy of Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) and the Methodist Church.

The donated supplies cover two quarters of the year depending on the needs of the clients under care. This is a huge contribution considering the financial burden that they are all experiencing as said by Inkhosikati LaNgangaza.

Donated food parcels included toilet papers, food combos, soap, detergents, and vegetables among other things.

To add onto this ENPF donated a car worth over E600, 000 to be used for ferrying patients and running errands.

When receiving the donations Inkhosikati LaNgangaza said she was grateful for the help, she further said significantly, the year 2024 marks 10 years since the World Health Assembly,

“This is indeed a step in the right direction in ensuring that we introduce the basics of proper palliative care at an early stage in the professional career and growth of our professionals.

The establishment of the oncology units in the Mbabane and Manzini government hospitals speak to the efforts of the country in meeting emaswati’s palliative care needs,” said the Inkhosikati.

In addition, HRH LaNgangaza said it would not have been able to be effective and efficient in its service delivery without the faithful and consistent support of ‘Make belumanyano’ over the past 10 years, as they are indeed their true friends and partners of hospice.

“The Methodist women’s donation is in its 10th year since it started in 2015. We are pleased that even today they have come with a kind donation including medical supplies, food parcels, and knitted wear for those under hospice care,” she said.

According to HRH the Methodist women have truly stood the test of time because even during the Covid-19 pandemic, they were not deterred, they fully understood the word of God as provided in Galatians 6 verses 9-10: Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

“So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith we thank the almighty god for you,” she said.

On another note, she said the huge ENPF donation would not have come at the right time than this, their Shiselweni region transport had broken down and made it very difficult to make their reach out within the region.
