The new National Commissioner of the Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS), Vusi Manoma Masango, gathered his troops for a prayer service to express gratitude for the successful celebration of Police Day 2024.
The prayer gathering was held at the Matsapha Police Academy and was National Commissioner Masango’s first major event since his appointment.
The National Commissioner Masango began the service by expressing his deep appreciation for the prayers offered by various members of the clergy, particularly those from the Police Chaplaincy Unit.
He commended Pastor Shodi Msibi, Pastor Madudu Mabuza, and Reverend Nhlanhla Hlatshwako for their dedicated prayer services leading up to Police Day.
“We are grateful for the strength and wisdom that guided us through challenges while preparing for Police Day,” said Masango where he highlighted the crucial role of spiritual support in their success.

In his speech, Masango also acknowledged the legacy of the erstwhile Acting Commissioner, Lydia Dlamini, who had initiated the tradition of holding prayer services before the Police Day celebrations.
“We thank God for the strength and wisdom that guided us through challenges while preparing for Police Day,” he remarked.
Moreover, Masango committed to continuing this tradition and announced plans to extend these prayer services to various regions, collaborating with local churches.
“We will work with regional churches to ensure that our officers receive spiritual support across the country,” he stated.
The spiritual atmosphere of the gathering was further enriched by a sermon from Reverend Hertform Xaba of Christ Cares Kingdom Ambassadors.
Reverend Xaba shared a verse emphasizing humility and the Lord’s protection over those who remain humble.
He urged all REPS officers to continue their noble service with love and dedication, reinforcing the values of humility and commitment in their duties.
