Indlovukazi hands over new House to disabled elderly at Maphalaleni

Her Majesty Indlovukazi, represented by Hhohho Regional Administrator Princess Tsandzile, officially handed over a newly built house to Sibonginkhosi Maziya (51) recently at Maphalaleni Inkhundla.

Maziya, who is disabled, had been living with his elder brother after his previous home was destroyed.

During the handover, Princess Tsandzile commended the unity demonstrated by the residents throughout the construction process and encouraged them to continue supporting Maziya.

“Her Majesty has called on the community to continue supporting Maziya just as they have done before. Their Majesties wish for every Liswati to live in comfort with proper housing,” she stated.

Deputy Prime Minister, Thulisile Dladla, expressed gratitude to Make Ntombi Matse for her swift identification of Maziya’s situation and her proactive response in other similar cases.

Dladla emphasized the importance of reporting such matters to local councils to prevent tragedies caused by collapsing houses.

“Every Liswati should feel joy and pride in their identity, hence we are ensuring they live in proper housing and not in falling structures,” Dladla remarked.

In a further commitment to Maziya’s well-being, the DPM requested the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) to construct a makeshift kitchen for the family, while her office took on the task of fencing the property.

Dladla also extended appreciation to Hlobsile Dlamini, the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, for purchasing a bed for Maziya.

Make Ntombi Matse reflected on her initial visit, recounting the devastation of finding Maziya’s previous home destroyed.

She expressed gratitude to Maziya’s brother for stepping in to provide shelter during the difficult period.

Minister and MP Mabulala Maseko praised the DPM for her swift action in addressing the nation’s housing challenges.

He highlighted progress within his own constituency, where three houses have already been built, and reflected on a biblical principle:

“The Bible states that those who care for vulnerable orphans and widows are truly blessed.”
