“We believe there is a transformation in the Ministry of Health,” she stated, underscoring the commitment of the government to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality for all citizens.
The new strategy is expected to address pressing health issues, particularly in the fields of ophthalmology and preventive care.
The launch of the eye clinic is a critical step towards making specialized healthcare services more accessible in Eswatini.
The facility will provide comprehensive eye care, including preventive services, diagnosis, and treatment, and is set to greatly benefit the local community.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by the Ministry to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve outcomes for patients throughout the nation.
The partnership between One Sight Foundation and ENHI has proven pivotal in realizing this vision.
Representatives from both organizations praised the collective effort, highlighting that the eye clinic will serve not only as a healthcare facility but also as an educational centre to raise awareness about eye health in the community.

It should be noted that Mabuza’s announcement comes at a time when the need for improved healthcare services in Eswatini is more crucial than ever, driven by challenges exacerbated by socioeconomic factors and the recent impacts of the global pandemic.
According to Mabuza, the new strategic plan is anticipated to provide a framework for addressing these challenges while aligning with national health goals and international best practices.
It is worth mentioning that as the eye clinic officially opens its doors, the Ministry of Health remains committed to fostering partnerships that drive health innovations and enhance the well-being of the nation.
