Tinkhundla commended for outreach and impact on rural development

In a recent sector committee meeting with the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Chairperson MP Sifiso Khungankosi Dlamini praised Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini for his commendable efforts and visible outreach in his new role.

The meeting, which focused on the progress and developments within the ministry, highlighted the impactful endeavours in rural communities across the nation.

MP Dlamini noted, “Your visibility and outreach have been noticed and commended by many constituencies.” He also recalled the “Nkwe’ Commission” initiated by His Majesty King Mswati III, emphasizing how it has revitalized discussions and actions surrounding rural development.

“For once, I thought the Ministry was new in Government,” Dlamini remarked, encouraging the Minister to continue with the strong momentum built so far.

During the meeting, the Minister reported significant progress through the Rural Development Fund (RDF), revealing that over E35 million has been disbursed for various infrastructural projects aimed at enhancing the lives of the community members.

He stated that these developments are expected to benefit over 8,000 people, encompassing a wide array of projects, from road repairs to water supply systems.

This significant allocation from the RDF reflects the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in rural areas and addressing the grassroots needs of the population.

According to the Minister, the focus remains on not just building physical infrastructure but also fostering economic growth and sustainability within communities.
