Man Kidnapped and Stabbed to Death in Mbhuleni

A 30-year-old man tragically lost his life in a brutal stabbing incident on Sunday in the Mbhuleni area.

Chief Police Information and Communications Officer, Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, confirmed that a 37-year-old man from Magubheleni has been arrested as the primary suspect in the case.

According to sources, the crime scene was harrowing, with a pool of blood marking the area where the victim was attacked.

Witnesses reported that the assailants arrived in a vehicle, inflicted a single stab wound on the victim, and then kidnapped him. His body was later disposed of in an undisclosed location.

Illegal Firearm Seized in Separate Arrest

In an unrelated incident on the same day, law enforcement officers arrested a 34-year-old man during a routine operation in Ntsangeni for possessing an illegal firearm.

The police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a search that led to the discovery of a 75 Calo-para.Z pistol along with 11 live rounds of ammunition.

The suspect did not have the required license or permit for the weapon.

Authorities have emphasized that illegal firearms pose a significant threat to community safety.

Senior Superintendent Vilakati stated that investigations are underway to trace the origins of the firearm and to determine whether it is linked to other criminal activities.
