The Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, through its Microprojects Programme Department, has invested a total of E8, 329, 049.24 in infrastructure projects that will directly benefit 2, 800 residents of Mpofu and surrounding areas.
The Ministry handed over a newly constructed community hall and the Mantabovu low-level crossing at Mhlangatane Inkhundla, which was hailed as a major development milestone for the region.
The Mpofu Community Hall was funded by the Community Development Special Fund (CDSF) at a cost of E3,066,683.19 and is set to serve 800 community members from Mpofu and an additional 2,000 people from neighbouring areas.

The funding was used to procure building materials and pay for skilled labor, while community members contributed E50 per homestead to assist in the construction of a two-door toilet facility.
The new hall is expected to become a vital hub for social gatherings, community meetings, and developmental initiatives.
In addition to the hall, the Mantabovu low-level crossing was officially handed over, designed to enhance connectivity and economic activity between Mpofu and neighboring communities.
The government allocated E5, 262, 366.05 for this infrastructure which will ensure safe and reliable access to essential services such as schools, shops, and trade centers.
Local residents also contributed E50 per homestead, supplying materials such as stones, river sand, plaster, and water to support construction efforts.

The handover ceremony was attended by key government and community representatives, including Under Secretary Siboniso Masilela, Director of Microprojects Sibusiso Mbingo, and other officials from the Microprojects Department.
Representing Mhlangatane Inkhundla was the Deputy Speaker of Parliament and area MP, Madala Mhlanga, alongside Indvuna Mangomeni Ndzimamdze from Mayiwane Umphakatsi.
The event was also graced by numerous community members, who expressed gratitude for the
