UAE REMAINS COMMITTED TO SERVING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION – SHEIK AL NAHYAN

DUBAI, UAE – United Arab Emirates’ President Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reiterated his government’s commitment to international cooperation in a statement issued welcoming delegates to this year’s World Government Summit.

The summit which is attended by His Majesty King Mswati III together with over 30 Heads of States and Government, started on Tuesday and ends on Thursday.

There are more than 80 international and regional organisations, 140 government delegations and over 6000 attendees, making it one of the largest followed gatherings in the Middle East.

His Highness Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that UAE will remain committed to its mission to support international cooperation with the aim of serving the development goals of various global communities.

He emphasised that such efforts stem from his country’s firm belief that global prosperity and progress are ensured by collaborative global efforts aimed towards a shared vision for a brighter future for humanity, focusing on stability and development for all.

“We are pleased to welcome the leaders and governments of the world as honoured guests of the UAE.

The World Governments Summit offers a global platform for dialogue and the exchange of visions and ideas at a time when societies are in pressing need of concerted and joint cooperative efforts to confront challenges that cannot be addressed individually.”

He said the world is interconnected and current global transformations will impact all of them.

“The potential for opportunities is great and our collective strength lies in our unity, shared vision and joint efforts to achieve sustainable and equal development for all,” the Sheik said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President of UAE and leader of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Maktoum, stated that the growing international participation in the World Governments Summit cements its position as the premier global forum for governments at a critical time of transformative and historical change.

“The changes we are witnessing are different, rapid and comprehensive. Governments need to be increasingly prepared, proactive and adaptive.

The World Governments Summit therefore provides unified and unique platform for progress, prosperity and inclusive development, keeping pace with current global changes,” he said.

This year’s edition includes a robust, expanded agenda featuring more than 200 dialogue and interactive sessions, addressed by more than 300 prominent speakers.

Over 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables will convene more than 400 ministers, culminating in the release of 30 strategic reports developed with the Summit’s international knowledge partners and think tanks, as well as academic and research bodies.

The World Government Summit’s latest edition focuses on six key themes: Effective Governance and Accountability; Financing the Future and the Global Economy;

Climate, Crisis Mitigation, and Resilient Cities; Human-Centric Futures and Capacity Building; Global Health Transformations; and Emerging Frontiers and the Future.

The summit will also launch the Global Ministers Survey, which invites ministers worldwide to share their insights on critical global issues and contribute to collaborative solutions.
