The Land Management Board (LMB), headed by Chairperson Petros Mavimbela, has ordered all individuals who have been allocated land or have already commenced construction in proximity to cattle dip tanks at Siphocosini Umphakatsi to immediately halt all construction activities.
The directive comes as the LMB holds a community meeting at Siphocosini Umphakatsi to address concerns over land allocation, particularly the encroachment on communal grazing land, known as emadlelweni, and its impact on livestock farming.

Cattle owners have raised complaints about what they describe as uncontrolled land allocation, saying the developments are affecting grazing areas and raising concerns about the sustainability of livestock production.
A major concern is the cattle dip tank, which may be closed by the Ministry of Agriculture due to surrounding land encroachment that is making its operation difficult and unsafe.
The LMB has engaged the community to gather facts, listen to all stakeholders and understand how the land allocations were made.
The board is seeking to balance residential land needs with the protection of communal grazing areas and livestock infrastructure.
The decision to halt construction is intended to allow the relevant authorities to properly assess the affected areas and establish the circumstances surrounding the allocations.

The Board is also seeking to promote open dialogue and ensure fairness in addressing the concerns raised by the community.
As a constitutional body, the LMB oversees land allocation on Eswatini Nation Land, investigates disputes and promotes sustainable land use in collaboration with traditional authorities and government institutions.
