The family of South African artist Costa Titch whose real name is Costa Tsobanoglou has confirmed his passing.

The family has further asked for time and space to gather themselves and pleaded for prayer from fans. The artist who was aged 28 died after he collapsed while performing at Ultra South Africa at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg on Saturday night.

In a statement, the Tsobanoglou family said death had knocked on their door, robbing them of their beloved son, brother, and grandson. The family said it was with deep pain that they found themselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time.

“We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hour on this earth,” the family said.

They also added that they were faced with a difficult time as they tried to make sense of what had befallen them.

“The Tsobanogou family thanks you for the love and support you have given to our son and may you continue to uplift him even in spirit. Please keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord,” the family said.

Meanwhile, the video of Costa Titch’s final performance and the moment he fell on stage has gone viral on social media as fans and other people continue to mourn his death.

Fans continue to pass condolences as they try to come to terms with what has happened. The South African music industry has been hit my artists passing away. In just the past few months, artists such as DJ Sumbody and Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes were killed.
