Blessed is the hand that gives!
Local car dealership Autofin (Ford) has donated food parcels and necessities worth over E20 000 to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.
The items will be distributed to needy families across the four regions of the country. Deputy Prime Minister Thuli Dladla received the donation on Wednesday. Autofin Business Development Executive Manager Nicholas Maziya said the donation was part of their corporate social responsibility.
“We have been touched by the act that is done by the DPM in the four corners of the country, trying to change people’s lives. We hope this donation will go a long way in supporting the national program, and we promise to increase the gesture in the near future. We are committed to playing a part in improving people’s lives in the country,” he said.
Dladla thanked the company for the gesture. “We appreciate the support of Autofin and strongly believe that the donation will go a long way in assisting our office to improve the lives of less privileged people in the country and children. This program started in 2025, and we are assisting 40 families through it,” she said.
Dladla also urged the nation to support Autofin in its business endeavours. “We appeal to the nation to support Autofin so that they can be able to give back to the nation,” she said. The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, led by DPM Thulisile Dladla, has been at the forefront of humanitarian work in the country, focusing on vulnerable groups including the elderly, children, people living with disabilities and child-headed households.
Since she was appointed DPM in November 2023, Dladla has championed several social protection initiatives, notably the housing programme for vulnerable Emaswati, implemented through the National Disaster Risk Management Authority (NDRMA) with support from partners such as the Republic of China on Taiwan.
She also spearheads the Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumndeni Programme, launched in July 2025, a reality television and radio initiative aimed at reuniting fragmented families and promoting social healing. Other interventions include handing over Neighbourhood Care Points (NCPs), donating dignity packs to inmates at Matsapha and Mawelawela Correctional Facilities, awarding scholarships to children in residential care facilities, and distributing clothing donations from partners like the Eswatini Red Cross Society through her office.
