By Lwazi Dlamini

The MTN Premier League will take a break for three weeks due to the national team, Sihlangu Semnikati’s AFCON qualifier commitments.

The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Football Manager, Petros Vilakati told Eswatini Daily News that the premier league is likely to resume in the first week of April given the national team’s international assignments.

“This weekend, for instance, the PLE will be having its Special General Meeting and also a workshop which has resulted in us having to amend even the National First Division league games which can’t play on the weekend,” Vilakati said.

Sihlangu is already in full-time camp preparing for the AFCON 2023 qualifier against the ‘Blue Sharks’ of Cape Verde with the first leg away on March 25 and the second leg on March 28 set to be played at Mbombela Stadium.

The MTN League had reached its climax with Green Mamba enjoying a three-point lead with seven games remaining.
