Sbu Noah praises Eswatini vocalists following surprise performance
Acclaimed South African gospel artist, Sbu Noah recently expressed heartfelt admiration for the
backing vocalists from Eswatini, calling them “my people” after a memorable performance in
Manzini.
The event, held at a secret location last weekend around Manzini, showcased not only Sbu
Noah’s powerful vocals but also the exceptional talent of the local vocalists who accompanied
him. Taking to social media shortly after the performance, Sbu Noah couldn’t contain his
enthusiasm for the Eswatini backing vocalists.
“Okay, remind me never to bring backing vocalists in Eswatini, because WOW!!! My people
these ones,” he wrote, highlighting the impressive skills and synergy he experienced on stage.
This spontaneous praise resonated deeply with fans, many of whom expressed regret at not being
informed about the concert in advance.
The comment section quickly filled with disappointed fans lamenting the secrecy of the event.
“Next time let us know you're coming, we missed a lot, they didn’t tell us. I wonder why they did
not tell us,” wrote Gcebile Maseko, echoing the sentiments of many who wished they had
witnessed the live performance.
Sbu Noah, whose full name is Sibusiso ‘Sbu Noah’ Mthembu, has carved out a distinguished
career as a gospel singer, songwriter, and television personality.
He first rose to national prominence as a member of the celebrated South African gospel choir Joyous Celebration. His
breakthrough came with the hit track ‘Hallelujah Nkateko,’ which cemented his status as a
leading voice in gospel music.

Over the years, he has contributed to numerous hits with the choir,
including ‘Wenzile,’ ‘Ngino Jesu,’ ‘Sewakhile,’ and ‘Ngiphephile Umoya Wenkosi.’
Sbu Noah’s journey into music began in his local church choir, where his passion for gospel
music was nurtured. His talent and dedication led him to audition for various groups, eventually
catching the attention of Lindelani Mkhize, who introduced him to Joyous Celebration in 2012.
Since joining the choir, Sbu has performed at numerous high-profile concerts across South
Africa, gaining a loyal following.
