This was revealed by the Minister of Health Mduduzi Matsebula.

According to Matsebula, the commissioning of the mobile TB trucks and the motorbikes also aligns with their pursuit as a ministry of health of universal health coverage and equitable access to essential health services.

Moreover, he said it highlights the power of partnership.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, stakeholders, and dedicated health workers who continue to contribute their time, expertise, and resources to the national TB response,” the minister.

The minister said special thanks also goes to the Global Fund for their generous support in funding the procurement of the mobile TB Screening Units and motorbikes, which will significantly strengthen active TB case finding efforts in the country’s communities.

The minister also extended the ministry’s sincere thanks to Central Medical Stores (CMS) for accommodating and safeguarding this equipment pending its commissioning.

“Let me take this opportunity to reaffirm our ministry’s commitment to ensuring that these resources are used effectively and sustainably, reaching those who need them most,” said the minister.

He revealed that the ministry’s plans focus on strengthening active TB case finding through community outreaches, cluster screenings and other targeted TB screening to enhance early detection,

ensure timely intervention, and help curb the spread of TB within communities.
“Together, let us continue to work with determination until we achieve a TB-free Eswatini,” he said.
