Eswatini’s music star Lyrikal Busta is set to release a powerful new collaboration with South African award-winning artist Intaba Yase Dubai.

The single, titled Mtukulu, is scheduled to drop on September 26, 2025, across all major digital platforms and is set to deliver a vibrant and meaningful musical experience that bridges cultures and generations.

Mtukulu, which translates to “grandchild” in SiSwati, delves into themes of nostalgia, hope, and unity. Lyrikal Busta explained that the song narrates a touching scenario where an elderly man encourages his grandson to play the track repeatedly because it evokes fond memories of the past.

The song’s energetic and uplifting beat is designed to be a dance anthem, especially fitting for the festive season in December. “It’s a happy and energetic anthem, and people will most definitely have something to dance to this December,” Lyrikal Busta shared.

The collaboration is significant not only for its musicality but also for its cultural message. Lyrikal Busta emphasised that Mtukulu aims to resonate with listeners across different age groups, telling a story that reflects African heritage and identity.

“The aim was to create a song that would resonate with different age groups and tell a story of where we come from as African people.

I had to feature Intaba Yase Dubai from South Africa to also convey a message of unity amongst Africans, especially in these times of xenophobic attacks,” he stated.

Musically, Mtukulu blends the soulful vibes of Sofiatown with the infectious rhythms of Amapiano, creating a sound that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in African musical traditions.

The production was handled by South African producer Skatl1 Beats, with engineering by Sean Cast HQ, ensuring a polished and high-quality finish.

Reflecting on the song’s creative process, Lyrikal Busta described working with Intaba Yase Dubai as an enriching experience.

“Working on the song was amazing as I got to learn more from renowned South African award-winning artist Intaba Yase Dubai, especially after the success of ‘365 Days,’ a song where we both collaborated and has garnered over 1 million views on streaming platforms,” he said.
