An 18-year-old Form 4 student from Ntandweni High School has proven that determination and courage can open doors to a brighter future.
Busiswa Ndlangamandla, representing the Ladies Category Position 1 under Dvokodvweni Inkhundla, emerged victorious in the army recruitment selection held at Malindza–Mbadlane.
With youthful confidence and a heart full of ambition, Busiswa shared her joy after being announced among the successful candidates.
“I thank my class teacher for believing in my dreams of becoming a soldier,” she told Eswatini Daily News (EDN), her face beaming with pride.
Despite her newfound success, Busiswa says this is only the beginning of her journey. “Even at the army barracks, I will continue with my dream of becoming a journalist.
I will continue with my studies. Winning the army recruitment race will definitely change my story and that of my family,” she said.

Her victory has brought pride not only to her school but to the entire community of Malindza–Mbadlane, where residents have hailed her as a symbol of hope and perseverance for the youth.
Teachers at Ntandweni High School also expressed their excitement, describing Busiswa as a disciplined and hardworking learner who always aimed high.
The Dvokodvweni Inkhundla recruitment event, part of the ongoing national army vetting process, saw hundreds of hopefuls competing for a limited number of positions. Bucopho and other local leaders supervised the verification of identity documents to ensure fairness and transparency.
Busiswa’s achievement stands as an inspiring reminder that with faith, mentorship, and determination, even young women from rural communities can rise to the call of duty and still chase their academic dreams.
As she prepares to take on her next challenge in uniform, Busiswa’s message to her peers is simple yet powerful: “Never stop dreaming, even when your dreams seem far away.”
