FNB Eswatini and the FNB Eswatini Foundation have now invested more than E1.1 million into SOS Children’s Villages’ Child-Headed Households initiative.

This follows the latest E500 000 allocation announced on Wednesday. The Foundation previously committed E645 000 to the programme in 2020, bringing the total to E1 145 000.

FNB CEO Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini said the continued investment reflected FNB’s focus on strengthening vulnerable families.

“This programme aims to respond to the growing needs of children who find themselves leading households. Our support is guided by the belief that no child should carry the weight of a household alone,” he said.

Meanwhile, SOS National Director Phindile Nhleko said the cumulative investment demonstrated long-term commitment.

“This is not a once-off gesture. FNB continues to stand with us, and with the children who depend on this programme,” she said.

In addition, she said the funding would help prevent family separation, child poverty and risks linked to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by ensuring that child-headed homes receive stable, predictable support.
