The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini on Monday signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The MOUs are for the Establishment of a Comprehensive Consultation Mechanism and Contract Farming and Agriculture respectively. Signing the MOUs was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Thuli Dladla, Minister of Agriculture Jabulani Mabuza and Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh H.E Shahriar Alam.

The Bangladesh Minister is in the country on a two-day working visit and is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with other Cabinet Ministers on Tuesday. Alam will also be having official meetings with chambers of commerce and business entities in the country.

Alam’s visit to the Kingdom is part of Bangladesh’s tour and meetings with governments of Southern Africa to improve trade and other relations. Last week, Alam was in South Africa, where News Drum reports he inaugurated an exhibition titled ‘Made in Bangladesh’ in Pretoria.

The exhibition featured jute, ceramic, textiles, leather, food products and handicrafts from Bangladesh, the publication reported. During that event, Alam detailed some of the emergent industrial sectors in Bangladesh which offered opportunities to the region.
