Nsingizini Ladies crash out of COSAFA Women’s Champions League

It’s the end of the road for Nsingizini Hotspurs Ladies.The Eswatini envoys have crashed out of the COSAFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers following a 3-1 loss to Costa do Sol in Gaborone.

This was the second defeat for the Mpendulo Mawelela-led side, after suffering a heavy 8-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns earlier in the tournament

Nsingizini will now face Malawi’s Silver Strikers in their final Group A fixture on Tuesday.

Women’s football in Eswatini has grown rapidly in the last five years. Nsingizini Hotspurs are the reigning league champions and the third Eswatini team to represent the country in COSAFA after Manzini Wanderers and Young Buffaloes.

The top two teams from the qualifiers will represent the COSAFA region in the 2027 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The team recently received an E40 000 sponsorship from Orchard Insurance.
