Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has held discussions with the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) Secretary-General Moussa Saleh Batraki on resource mobilisation, as the country continues to support efforts to strengthen the organisation’s financial sustainability and deliver tangible benefits to member states.
The meeting took place on the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda, where the two leaders reviewed progress and discussed the next steps in resource mobilisation in support of His Majesty King Mswati III’s role as the OACPS Resource Mobilisation Champion.
The discussions centred on securing additional commitments, strengthening engagement across the organisation’s three regions and ensuring that membership translates into practical benefits for member states and their citizens.
The engagement comes as the OACPS seeks to strengthen its capacity to mobilise resources and sustain its work across Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. The discussions highlighted the importance of building stronger partnerships and ensuring that commitments made to the organisation translate into meaningful outcomes for its members.
Building on the outcomes of the Malabo Summit, the meeting also emphasised practical South-South cooperation, particularly in skills development, employment creation and economic self-sufficiency.
These priorities are aimed at strengthening cooperation among member states while supporting initiatives that can expand economic opportunities and improve livelihoods.
