(BREAKING NEWS) President of the Law Society of Swaziland(LSS) and Human Rights Lawyer Mandla Mkhwanazi has died, senior sources within the legal fraternity confirmed to this Swaziland News.
The prominent legal eagle was rushed to hospital in Mbabane yesterday, unfortunately he died in the early hours this morning. Several lawyers who were contacted by this Swaziland News Centre for Investigative Journalism confirmed the death of the prominent lawyer who handled several high profile cases including the contempt of court case of Attorney Thulani Maseko.
“Yes it’s true Nkhosi, I was speaking to one of the lawyers from his office just now” said a lawyer who cannot be named as the matter is yet to be formally confirmed to the public by the family.
Reached for comments , former Secretary General of the Law Society Bongani “Bhanyaza” Mdluli said he cannot discuss the matter but Thulani Maseko was the rightful person to speak to the media.
Senior Attorney Thulani Maseko said he was yet to receive a permission from the family to speak to the media about the matter.
“For now I would advise that you contact the family, I have spoken to them and they are yet to give me permission to speak to the media about the matter” he said Mandla Mkhwanazi started his career in the legal profession working under the supervision of top attorney Peter Dunseth. The late legal eagle, in his speech at the High Court last warned the country,alleging that justice was now for sale while accusing Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala of meeting litigants privately to discuss matters pending in court.
