A company known as K.R.O.M Events originally from Siteki, Eswatini at Matsetsa which went to South Africa for greener pastures are currently facing a mystery after being crooked +20k by Dj. Maphorisa who is currently managing Mlindo Da Vocalist.
The company makes a living by hosting unique events in South Africa and they decided to go big late last year on the 08th December where they booked Mlindo who was a no show. The organizing team made means to call the artist on the set date and he ignored their calls and they managed to get a call from an anonymous person informing them that Mlindo is performing in Pretoria on the same time of the slot they had agreed on. That was when the organizers decided to cancel their show and the organizers made a loss of over forty thousand.
Both parties reached an agreement and agreed to shift the event to 28 December 2018 whereby Dj. Maphorisa yet refused to compile a confirmation video so that the audience gain trust from the organizers. That was when the organizers decided to ask for a refund. While the discussions were continuing in aim to resolve the issue and getting a refund from the booking that never happened Dj. Maphorisa started calling the organizers “Small Boys”.
Dj. Maphorisa is said to have said he will give the organizers their refund after 14 days which the organizers were patient enough to wait for the set time frame. However, after the 14 days Dj. Maphorisa started new stories yet again after the organizers tried texting and following up which he ignored those texts.
As Eswatini Daily News we decided to get evidence from this story which we got and starting from when the organizers made follow up after the 14 days. Dj. Maphorisa’s response was “Ddnt I tell you it takes 14 days to clock in coz we used a business account”. According to u,s we know that transfers only happens prompt when sent to the same bank account, if not the same bank account it will take max 3 working days.
Moving on to the conversation, his next response was he will call the organizers the next day when they landed which we believe by that time he claimed to have been busy. Before Dj. Maphorisa had said he didn’t want the organizers to send 5k to his business account and demanded that the organizers send the payment to his number or anything else and requested proof of payment emailed yet suggested that they use eWallet, pep, Shoprite.
All proof of payments were sent to Dj Maphorisa and after that Dj. Maphorisa was very active to check if organizers managed to make payments and sent bank details.The organizers also forwarded our media a signed Agreement between both parties which shows that all dealings were done professionally, so as payments being made.
The group then sent Dj Maphorisa a text saying they think this issue can b handled in court since he was failing to make the refund as requested and his response was : Ok no stress, if you wanna become my enemy we can go ahead, kuyafana the event was there and u guys made money off it… and u told us u cancelling the event… lol, so we’ll c good luck”.
