Turn Up Imbizo is a classic annual event called out by SEM Cares Foundation as a crowed funding
initiative targeting the youth whereby they are invited to turn up for a good cause yet again having fun doing it.
The initiative was started last year on 23rd November 2019, whereby the foundation invited Manqonqo
popularly known for his hit tracks “Eyadini, iNumber, Ngibambe and many more” including Sbu from
Uzalo and other supporting acts from both Eswatini and South Africa.
The foundation has set up a date for this year’s event which is the 28th November 2020. Before the main day the foundation will host mini campaigns including SEM’s Digital Youth Forum, Golf, Gala Dinner and more outreach which are already strategies according to the foundations year plan.
Just to elaborate on one of the upcoming project; as we all know today’s most jobs require some
level of digital skills. Key growth areas alone have created demand for tens of millions of jobs around
the world. These jobs often go unfilled due to skills shortages. We can transform the challenge into
an opportunity by equipping youth with digital skills and connecting them to jobs.
SEM Cares Foundation recognizes that investing in youth by developing their digital skills is a win-win strategy: It addresses the skills gap by making young people more employable, creating quality jobs, and sparking innovation across all sectors in the digital economy.
The Campaign invites Eswatini Government, Corporates and Eswatini Youth to take action to reach our target: All Eswatini young people trained with jobready, transferable digital skills. All Campaign pledges will reflect positively to the United Nations as actions accelerating progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
“All this goes back to what we represent as a foundation” exaplains the Director during the report. SEM Cares Foundation is a non-profit
organization and its main purpose is to give back to the community in more ways than one; using the different holistic approaches to youth empowerment, providing community services as a way of empowering the youth, raising awareness and helping the helpless.
The organization’s mission is to mentor the youth into becoming changed agents in their own lives
and provide support services. The goal is to contribute extensively towards improving decision
making for the youth, reduce the gap between creative jobs using available human resources.
Lastly the vision is to create a well-informed youth, and stabilized job distributions in the near future.
However, the foundation cannot archive all this without your involvement as the community and as Eswatini Kingdom. They would like to invite everyone to get involved and for any pledges people can contact
