PM condemns arson attacks on schools and national infrastructure

The Prime Minister, Cleopas Dlamini at a press conference held at Cabinet offices yesterday 13 August, 2021, urged parents, community members and learners to give support to the police while they are conducting investigations to bring to books all those responsible for arson attacks on schools, national infrastructure and private property. The PM said that the cost of all this will be borne by the community and country, and not the perpetrators. He further said that it is learners who will suffer greatly as a consequence of this criminal activity.

He also stated that the Ministry of Finance is currently finalizing Regulations for managing the E500M reconstruction seed fund announced by His Majesty to help affected by the recent riots.

Government also announced E140M worth of food assistance to be provided to at least 300 000 Emaswati who were negatively impacted by COVID-19 and the recent unrest. These food packages are planned to be distributed from next week Wednesday.
