Nhlangano Resident Shot Dead by Police Officer

Nhlangano: The residents of Nhlangano were left in shock and disappointment by the brutal killing of an alleged dagga dealer by a police officer. 

Siphesihle Dludlu a resident of Nhlangano was on Friday 03 September 2021 shot dead by a police officer also based at Nhlangano. Dludlu was believed to be in possession of a small bag of dagga.
Drama erupted after residents witnessed the shooting. A witness of the tragedy stated that Dludlu was shot after he had a run-in with the police around the town while the other residents were watching. That is when he was shot at the back of his head by the police officer.

A large crowd immediately gathered around as the police were trying to remove the dead body from the scene of the killing. The crowd became rowdy and very aggressive as they demanded answers from the police as to why Dludlu was shot.

The raging relationship between police officers and the people is intensifying due to the on going killings in the country. In an attempt to prevent the group of people from getting closer to them, it is said that the police later fired teargas to disperse the angry crowd.
