Mbabane- A group of Eswatini citizens peacefully marched to deliver a petition to the United Nations Embassy in Mbabane yesterday.

The March held by Swazi citizens was successful and peaceful with no altercation between the protesters and the police as it has happened in the past riots. The police were present to monitor the march and the crowd moved peacefully and there was no burning and vandalizing of property.

The United Nations Residents Coordinator Ms. Nathalie Ndogo- Seh held a successful meeting with about 10 representatives of Political Party Assembly (PPA), where she received the petition and listened to the grievances presented by the PPA. Amongst the representatives was Sibongile Mazibuko leader of Ngwane National Liberatory Congress. They pleaded with the UN to take a stand pertaining the proposed political changes and also address the issue on the right to freedom of expression, association and assembly.

In the petition the PPA also want the UN to conduct a proper investigation of the alleged crimes against citizens and the killing of unarmed citizens during the riots so that justice is served.
The UN promised a continuous stand in solidarity with the Kingdom of Eswatini and that they will work hard to help restore peace in the nation.
