The Prime Minister, Cleopas Dlamini today announced new eased level 1 measures.
The PM said “all sporting events can now resume operating under strict observance of relevant sector COVID-19 Protocols and the General COVID-19 preventative measures of physical distancing, sanitizing and proper wearing of face masks. Up to a maximum of 2000 vaccinated spectators will be allowed at Somhlolo National Stadium and Mavuso Sports Centre. Other open grounds will be allowed up to 500 vaccinated spectators, also under strict COVID-19 Protocols.”
The PM also announced that community meetings will now be allowed to operate normally under strict adherence to COVID-19 regulations. Church services are allowed more than once a week for a period not exceeding three hours at any given time. Public transport will now operate at full capacity as per their vehicle operating licenses.
The sale and distribution of alcohol will now be allowed Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 2pm. The sale of alcohol remains strictly for home consumption except where served with meals at restaurants. Alcohol at public events is prohibited. The serving of food and alcoholic beverages remains prohibited in all gatherings, including funerals, sporting and entertainment events. ‘Kufukama’, night vigils and night clubs remain prohibited.
